Blog Promise
As the first janitor is arriving,
the first CEO tightening his tie,
the first cook tying her apron —
I will be here writing, getting
a jump on the blog day, setting
up my stall of jpegs and words,
unfurling my awning of songs
and thoughts to see us through
another day of joy and sorrow.
Think of Me
Think of me as I yearn to surf 300 blogs daily.
Think of me as you go about your art and work,
as you turn your eyes to clocks and fine pastries.
See me in my attic room with my coffee and candle,
hunched over my golden guitar, fingers pressed to
strings and frets to spin some melodies and words
to make us both smile or laugh or cry — or all three.
Think of me in afternoons when planes go humming
towards dying stars as you are heading homeward —
I’ll be the leaves rushing past you in a tune of green.
Timeline
The Big Bang.
Earth cools.
A Roman slave
breaks a new
crystal glass.
I write this,
which a girl
2000 years
from now
may read.
(Or not.)

Prompted by the Blogging Guru, Barbara Swafford’s post last week called SEO — Are We Getting It All Wrong, I finally peeked at the site stats WordPress Guru, Kim Woodbridge set up a couple of months ago for me. I’d never checked them ’cause what I didn’t know couldn’t hurt me, right? If new stumblers were fleeing in droves I’d be blissfully ignorant and continue happily blogging away with all you wonderful friends until my dying day.
Well holy cow, it seems more and more folks are not only finding me but are actually RETURNING here! And as I commented to Barbara, here are some of the more “interesting” search phrases that landed folks on my site…
– golden bras
– lightweight drunk
– advanced placement essay naked
– brainwashed by Sarah Palin
– ass kicking bunny poem
– cash in my bra
– contortionism
– how to flounce
– I have lost my Jannie
– milking a cow poem
– migraine guitar lesson
Hey – are those me in a nutshell, or what?!?
I’ll be a total Barbara Swafford copycat here and ask the same of you — what kind of keywords are bringing folks to your site? Do you use your stats and / or give any thought to your Search Engine Optimization? Or do you even have stats and SEO set up?

Come on! You know you just gotta have a pair of those!!
Available from my “other” sister, songstress Kalyani of Kalyani’s Creations. (Yes, that’s her lovely posterior in the photo. Whoops, you don’t mind me divulging that to the world do you, K?)
Magic Fuzzy Pants come in assorted colors and sizes. Matching scarves and kids’ pants available too — (That’s my Kelly in the kids’ blue ones here below.

Kalyani will take custom orders. And ships FAST!
She’s even got a “Valentine’s hot pink fuzzy mini dress” up now on her eBay store (I bought one!)
Now, go get YOUR fuzzy pants!
But first – an edit… in Kalyani’s own words!!!
For custom orders (or if ordering from an ebay store is just too impersonal), please contact me at kalyani4ananda@yahoo.com for personalized attention. I might even send you a free CD of my band, Ananda Panda Band with purchase (if you remind me).
Song Stuff | Posted by Jannie on 2 February 2009 @ 7:07 AM

Do you know that among other services, Broadjam, the Internet music sharing company, helps Indie musicians get their songs placed in TV and movies? Okay, it costs $20 a song to submit to an Opportunity and I’m guessing that less than .001% of submissions actually get placed but hey — I just gave it a whirl and submitted my song “Bones” to two Opportunities! One call is for an FBI crime series and the other is for a horror film.
If you want a FREE download of my entire “Bones” song, please CONTACT ME and I’ll be happy to e-mail the MP3 to you.
No need to leave your e-mail address, it’s already on file for my eyes only here. (Unless you’ve left a ficticious one?) 🙂
I’ll be interested to hear your interpretation of “Bones.” I have one way I describe it but I don’t want to sway your innocent mind so I’ll let the song speak to you itself and if you want to come back and tell me what it says to you — please do!
Have a super-great day and if you have a dream, no matter how big or small, I hope you’re DOING IT too!
(And sweet dreams tonight. Don’t let the bed bones bite.) 😉
