I call that “Golden at The Blanton,” 3 summers ago.
Above her are bones. I forget what kind. But as I recall, they’re real.
And below her are 1,000,000 pennies.
I kid thee not!
Anyway, I think it’s a neat shot I took with my old Kodak Easyshare, and I imagine I used no flash. There are zero photo effects on it.
Now, about those 2 give-away polls…
…because I have some excellent-used stuff just lying around our (smoke-free, love-filled, mostly-unchaotic) home to possibly bring someone else pleasure, your votes might help me decide what to do with some of it. And maybe even land you a Jannie letter on beautiful stationery with gorgeous stamps and hopefully relatively neat hand-writing. Whoo-hoo!
Thanks!
Jannie

P.S. Thanks for your nice comments on my post yesterday when I was worrying if I was a weird freak. 🙂 You all made me feel so much better about being me.
Ah ha! One I took at the grand opening of Austin’s beautiful Butler Dance Center, when Kelly was 5.
It was a great dance party.
LL Cool Joe must’ve been the DJ — the tunes were so crankingly hot!
(Kelly only lasted 3 months at Ballet Austin because she was more interested in being a comedienne in class, but I did get some cute pix before we quit. And of course, she took tap / ballet at a couple other studios from ages 2 to 4, so there are those pix and videos to cherish forever too.)
No more ballet, yet life has continued! Who knew it ever could or would?!
And below, a little dance party break.
Friends, did you ever “quit” a class or an activity for you or your child? And if so, how did that work out? Was it a learning experience?
And are you weird too? (Feel free to share details of that!)
1 … who thinks driving to the store and back for chips and beer actually qualifies as exercise? (Hey, getting in and out of a car once — let alone twice, can be quite the work-out!)
2 … whose bras all need to be “taken up?”
3 …who can simultaneously eat spaghetti, blow-dry my hair and read blogs? (Okay, you know I’ll be posting a video to prove that.) 🙂
4 … who really misses jeans that actually came up to and surrounded The Waist? I’m so tired of my pants always falling down. Oh, I so miss Fancyass jeans from the 80s!! Remember that brand?
5 … who has cat hairs, cookie crumbs and something that looks like a glop of dried coffee ice cream gracing the keyboard of my computer?
6 … who has splashed hand sanitizer in my arm pits in a sudden odor emergency? Hey, it totally works in a pinch!
7….. whose speakers blew on my laptop one day after the factory warranty was up?
8 … who then fell asleep listening to music via headphones on said laptop, rolled over in the night and damaged the phone jack irreparably?
9 … who’s re-gifted? Pray do tell! Come on — it’s only the two of us here!
Later today I’m mailing that set of glass roosters we got for Christmas many many moons ago to a lovely blogging friend. Seems a right natural progression because of the decorations I see in her post-flood kitchen remodel. (Sorry those are not antiques, Paige. Re-gift if you wish.)
10. … who’s had a small parcel come back with this love note affixed?
July, 2007, eh? I really should keep up with these things!
So much for any future dreams of zipping merrily up the walkway to our mailbox to leave a parcel heavier than 13 oz.
Oh well, I have to go to the P.O. anyway — also have one of my CDs to mail to a really nice blogger in Sri Lanka. And something to Canada.
Awesome Poet Fireblossom’s gift coming back was probably God’s way of telling me to put in an extra little something for her. And to use nicer stamps. So I am, from my private stash…
And Rooster Woman’s parcel has these…
I am going now, to start sorting through 18 boxes of stuff. I know Wise Patricia’s audio cassette is in one of them!
