When I ran up Monet’s hill
a man in tights was up there
feeding his horse some hay.
We smiled at each other
and I continued along my way
to the Villa where pie awaited.
I had three slices with tea
in the conservatory with my
mother and seven sisters.
Later Chef brought us cigars
but we opted out and opened
a bottle of champagne each
then sat on the porch ’til well
after midnight eating chicken
and laughing the night away.
Yes, that’s what happened when I stepped into the above painting!

Wow, looks like FOUR new things.
Introducing…
Eenie, Meenie, Miney & Primo…
born between 4:30 and 6:00 a.m. May 4th, 2012 in an empty subwoofer cabinet.
Mieshka “Fluffy Butt” Funster and babies are all doing well.
Kittens, anyone?
This will be Mieshka’s one and only litter so get ’em while they’re hot, if I’ve the heart to let them go when the time comes.
But I’ll have to.
2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 parakeets and 17 fish already fill up this house quite well.
However… the darkest one, Primo (Prima?) the firstborn, would be nice to keep!
🙂

P.S. The kittens were 33 hours old in these pix.

she steps back
from the canvas
of her first verse
and finds it
pleasing in color
and jannie-sais-quoi.
(she forgets about the mind
and feels her way along the
corridor of chords and silk.)
she lays down
her brush, tosses
her songwriting
apron over
her guitar and
slips under
her pantry
door into the
Luxembourg
Gardens of
your smile.
a little something for dVerse Poetry’s Open Link Tuesday.
Sorry I’ve not been around to your blogs as I’d dearly hoped — but I think this week will be the week!!
I actually added in the your smile part here on Thursday, June 13th, 2014 about 12:26 a.m. Texas Time. Which actually makes it June 14th, early morning.
I forget what I had there before.

thirty more buttons
for the sidebar parade
with fun and delight
Miss Jannie has made.
this batch now linked
forever and a day,
(as long as her hosting
Miss Jannie does pay.)
why does she make these?
i haven’t a clue.
go ask Doctor Seuss
and Mister Magoo.
when did she start these?
i can’t quite remember.
I think it was early
one April December.
Is Jannie quite crazy?
Incredibly so.
But more poems await.
So go, blogger — go!
It’s Open Link Tuesday at dVerse Poets, whoooohooo.

P.S. After I hit “publish” on this I plan on taking a 1-week break from posting, but not from visiting your blogs.
Family, Just Good Stuff | Posted by Jannie on 21 April 2012 @ 12:30 AM
the good man
carried the unicorn
while the wife and
child cavorted on
the rides and such.
Well… the child was
doing the cavorting,
while the wife was
experiencing sheer
terror on that boat
pendulum torture
thing she’d forgotten
how much she HATES.
The wife was
mostly okay on
the Tilt-a-whirl
and ferris wheel
but quite done-in
by the Scorcher* the
second time ’round.
You’ve just read a “Saturday Flash Fiction 64.”

G-Man’s on a bit of a hiatus, god bless his sweet bloggin’ soul.
