Update:  I think I can do computer from 10:00 to 11:30 p.m. (still get 7 hours sleep,) and surf for a coupla hours during the day  —  as long as I run 2 to 3 miles 4x weekly and remember to make a conscious effort to suck my abs in 17 times a day.
Now, back to the originally scheduled post…
Can anyone suggest how to get by on a lot less sleep?
Like could I get down to maybe 4-5 hours a night?
‘Cause 11:00 p.m to 2:00 a.m is such prime blogging time.

(My desktop computer corner about 2 years ago, the one day in history said corner was actually tidy.)

Font sizing troubles…help?

Blogging | Posted by Jannie on 21 October 2008 @ 2:31 PM (16) Comments

I can’t seem to set my WordPress font size to my satisfaction.   I do like this Helvetica and this approximate size but don’t want it this bold.   Problem: when I make the body font smaller in my posts, the title size gets smaller too.  But my goal is to reduce only the body’s font size.  The size of the font you are now reading I am able to set under “Paragraph” in my WordPress’ “kitchen sink”  by highliting and applying  “Header 5” to each post.

Otherwise this is the default size of my posts’ font.   Arrg.

Does anyone have any help to offer?  Or wine to pour?

Oh no, “She’s” really a He

I don’t remember exactly how I first found Bulldog‘s blog when I started with WordPress about a month ago, but somethng Bulldog wrote really spoke to me and I commented.  And lo and behold said blogger was so kind as to return the favor!  Thus began our friendly discourse via comments.
Poor Bulldog, held prisoner in Hampton Roads. How I felt for that poor poochie with those to-die-for eyes.
Loved “her” writing style, wit and political views.
But um, could someone please turn back time until just before I cited “Her” on a very prominent blog because it turns out Bulldog is not a Her.  Not even remotely a Her.  Has not been a Her at any time during or before our discourse.   Had I checked Bulldog’s complete Blogger profile it would’ve become wildly apparent that “Male” was a rather prominent part of his description.  Hey, I figured that dude in the photo from 1861 must’ve been of one of “Her” ancestors.  (Photography was more or less widely available back then, right?)
And ladies like bulldogs too, don’t they?  Bulldogs even come in females.
Dear Lord, Jannie.
Upside, Bulldog is a true gentleman. With a great sense of humor, as is apparent from his comments on my post yesterday.   And from his wonderful blog in general.
Just goes to show how great the Internet can be, that it matters not whether you’re a man or woman – if your heart is true you will connect with others and the bloggin’ love will flow.
Bulldog, you deserve some nice juicy meat on those bones. If you’re ever in Austin, the steak’s on us!

Update on Oct. 23 at 10:46 p.m.  The Trojan is still there but I fully intend to whoops its ass resoundingly.
And here’s the original post…
Okay so I knew my Norton was out-of-date but kept putting off renewing it ’cause nothing bad could ever happen to my computer, right? Plus I could really put that fifty bucks towards more yodeling lessons. Yeah right. Friday at 3:37 p.m. while whipping up a scintillating post I got blasted with a Trojan. And I ain’t talking these, Baby. I’m talking bottom-feeding filthy verminy worminy get-a-real-life-you-mo-fo Trojan.
Thank Jesus a friend came over that night and worked his wizardry so my laptop’s o.k. Lucky! And double-luckily the old Norton had blocked the worst of it. Thanks, Jeff – I’m sure it’s exactly how you wanted to spend your Friday night.
Wait, I had a point to make here. My mind is wandering. Lunchtime I guess. Thinking now about where the vice grips are so I can get that pool drain unstuck…
Point? Update your virus protection. Yeah, that’s the point. I think.
And if it wasn’t the point, it should be!

Unsubscribed, Baby!

This week I took action and unsubscribed from about 50 companies’ mailing lists I’d let build up over time.  And boy do I feel great, having freed my energies for more meaningful pursuits like rooftoop yodeling and knitting with kelp.
Was more than high time to part ways with ghosts of the past like One Step Ahead, Bare Minerals, South Beach diet (so over that,)  Amazon.com, etc.
And Jim’s online trading companies.  Sorry Honey, but you haven’t used those sites in ages,  same for your Voice 123s.  Don’t be mad.  I was purging – letting in lightness and air.  Simplifying!  Can’t you feel a weight lifting now too?  (Please note I did lovingly leave your Woodie Wagons and Old Fords e-mails intact.  Knew better than to mess with those. Oy vey.)
No such luck with spam tho.  Viagra, aarrrg – so sick of those mails.   Millions waiting for me in Nigeria.  Canadian meds too, (altho a valium fuzz does sound tempting now and then.)  Can’t get rid of ’em all, I guess.
Have you unsubscribed lately?  It’s almost as satisfying as chasing a three-legged goat.  (I’m a four-time World Champion 3-legged goat wrangler.  Love it!)
