Flash Fiction 55, The Pea | Posted by Jannie on 9 March 2012 @ 1:53 PM
You will wait some, yes,
in post offices, airports
and auto repair shops.
You will wait for phone calls,
tulips and checks in the mail.
You will wait for shows to begin.
You will wait and wait
for what seems forever
for babies, answers and
dolphins until suddenly
— there they are!
Within and around you.
That makes 55 words for The G-Man!
Write and post a 55-word fiction and let him know.
It’s a fun, 100% calorie-free adventure.
(Unless of course… you, as I, munch potato chips and swill beer while computering.)
Blessings to all!
Oh, that was in Galveston, TX this past summer, on a dolphin cruise boat. On a balmy 102 degree day.

Sooooo….. we were walkin’ in the hood and came upon this giant agave.
So nice, so nice. I photographed it twice.
And of course, I had to get crazy with the 3rd shot.
Now, Dearest Friends and Enablers…
I am off to package up 3 eBay auctions that sold — some of hubby’s model railroad stuff.
Yay, my auctions sold! My auctions sold!!
Then… I have photos to take of 6 more railroad things and get those listed.
Whooohooooooo, Jannie can now hire her bassist and drummer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah, I’m the luckiest person I know!!
Who’s the luckiest person YOU know? And why?

Visit with Santa to say her only desire is an iPhone 4S — check.
Covering her iPhone prayer bases with the angels — check.
She then entered that house for a party with friends. They made cookies, ate dinner and went caroling.
Mardi’s Funster’s party for Jannie — check.
Mardi played her “fluke” and sang “Don’t Fence Me In” so beautifully for the two-steppers.
I played and sang a couple too, on my blue guitar.
Gymnastics show — check.
(Took that with my telephoto from waaaay across a huge gym.)
“The Nutcracker” — check. Great orchestra view from the cheap seats!
Gingerbread house social — check.
Pretty good start on the Christmas fun so far this year, eh!?
All this past weekend, except for the gingerbread social last Tuesday.
Oh. Posing by poinsettias on the way to get batteries for the camera for the gymnastics show — check!!
Now, my Dear Friend… back goes I to song lyrics.
See you soon!!

Baby, you’ve hardly changed a bit in 10 years!
Even the hat still fits. Kind of.
Seems like 10 minutes ago I was doing up your birth announcement, not 10 years.
TEN YEARS!!!
Happy Birthday, Baby!!
Love Mom & Dad.

Child, everybody knows you popped out about as independent as a kid gets
but there’ll be times on your journey you’ll need a peptalk, as we all do.
And who better to pep you up than Maya Angelou, whom I fell in love with
forever about as deeply as I fell in love with and will stay in love with you.
Dr. Angelou advises…
“The most important single thing, beyond discipline and creativity is daring to dare.”
“To those who are given much, much is expected.”
“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.”
“Nothing can dim the light which shines from within.”
“If you are not good to yourself, how can you expect anyone else to be good to you?” *
“You alone are enough. You have nothing to prove to anybody.”
“Live as though life was created for you.”
“Whenever you decide something with an open heart, you usually make the right decision.” **
“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”
“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.”
“When you get, give. When you learn, teach.”
Dr. Angelou also advises the following, but please don’t read until you’re 12, due to mild language.
In fact, don’t read any of this blog until you’re 12, okay. Thanks!!
“I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life’s a bitch. You’ve got to go out and kick ass. ”
Those old enough to read this blog, I hope Dr. Angelou’s wisdom enriches your journey today.
I know she has mine!!
With love from Jannie-Mom.

* and ** were actually written in first person, but I changed them to “you,” because I’m quite the rebel, as you know.
