Dear Mystery Person,
when I mailed the 6 letters yesterday
I felt a little sad for the 7th yet unclaimed,
until golden trumpets blasted the doors
of doubt wide open, telling me and the stars
to choose you from a comment on this post,
enclose 7 photos,
and rejoice
immensely
in the gift
of you.
That was a little story in 55 words for His Highness, the G-Man.
If you post a 55, G-Man will read, comment… then BOOK you, Dano.
And the winners of my 6 cds from that give-away post, as chosen randomly by Kelly are…
1. Comment # 2 — Jeanne of Chronic Healing!
2. Comment # 3 — JoyChristin of Unfolding Your Path To Joy!
3. Comment # 27 — Hootin’ Anni!
4. Comment # 39 — Lynn of Good Things Happened!
5. Comment # 41 — Claudia of Splitter Gewitter!
6. Comment # 52 — Cloudia of Comfort Spiral
And, since we’re talking 7 today… how about a 7th cd!!
7. Comment # 54 — Davina of Shades of Crimson! (Davina will also get a big lollipop, as per Kelly’s “Grand Prize Winner” idea!!)
Winners, please e-mail me with your address, and Blue Bunny will mail your cd pronto!
I’ll give away 7 more cds sometime!
Don’t forget about the 6 poetry books give-away here on Nov. 1st! Open World-Wide!
And to reiterate, commenting on this post could win you that 7th Jannie letter! 🙂
xoxo

Spaghetti Thing
Spaghetti Thing,
wherefore art thou?
Did you get munched
by a wandering cow?
They say you are gone
from our fair Austin town.
I guess too many kids
must’ve pulled you on down?
(end of poem)
Just a little post further to my one yesterday you all seemed to dig on about the Blanton Art Museum from when Kelly was 5.
And a little message from my “blogg manijir” concerning my recent cd give-away post…
Yes, CD winners announced — this coming Thursday, the 21st, 5:55 Texas (Central) Time!
P.M. that is.
(6:55 in Michigan.)
(9:35 in Newfoundland, right?)
Love, Jannie.

Who’d ever guess from that sweet little face
that you were a bloody terror that summer?
That your motor was stuck on two speeds
— running ahead and lagging behind?
That you’d stop any lady on the street
to inquire what was in her handbag?
Some obliged.
(In restrospect that was kinda funny, I guess.)
That you asked the stylist if he had a penis,
then ran around the salon, to leave with no haircut?
That we were the only ones the arms-folded
frowning guard followed around the Blanton?
Yes, the same day as this…
It’s been over 3 years since the Blanton.
Can we go back there this Wednesday?
Then try a new cafe somewhere?
I promise I’ll behave this time.
Love, Mom
xoxo
P.S.
(The first photo was taken at Suzie’s.)
(In the middle photo, it’s bones above and pennies below.)
(In the last photo the yellow things hanging were something like surgical tubing. I hear that sculpture’s gone now, boo hoo.)

The school bus
fades down the street
in third gear
as The Spammer
closes the door
in her nightgown.
(Yes — a strange place
indeed for a door.)
🙂
(Not my joke.)
The Spammer
pours more coffee
and flops back
to her laptop
wondering
if she’s more
in the mood
for waffles
or pancakes
this morning.
That was a Friday Flash Fiction in 55 words for The G-Man. Check out G-Man’s 55 Extreme Awesomeness!
And those are pix my friend took of me this morning near My Benches on the trail.
I photoshopped in the Spam later, ’cause it seemed like the thing to do.

You will sit in cafes
in Paris and Vienna
with your grandmother’s eyes,
your other grandmother’s smile
and your own funny sunny ways.
You will sit in cafes,
when you are grown,
where the dust of my
words will have settled
onto the tables and chairs
and into the deepest
libraries of your heart.
So, I must continue to
be conscious that my words
are sweet and caring.
And continue to say
“I’m sorry” when I mess up.
You will sit in cafes
and travel smilingly happy,
for you are made of love.
Love, Mom

P.S. Dear Readers, do you know of this Silly Bandz craze? Mama Z, has Baby Puppy fallen under the spell of these?
