if you’re wandering
down the shore
still looking for
half of yourself
and for that
little cottage with
the yellow door,
come on in.
i’m standing at
the kitchen counter
folding photoberries
into pies
for you.
i’m stuffing the
crusts with armchairs
you can sink into
to drink your tea
here by the sea.
if you’re
wandering
please
come
wander
with me.

we return to
The Yoga Pyramid
Easter Sunday
when Texan frogs
are about to light
jasmine candles
and
Australian frogs
are doing morning
sit-ups in bed.
some of us
have never
met, yet
we have all
known each
other since
God Googled
“how to build
beings who know
love is always
the way to go.”

55 words for “Mama Z’s” poetry blog. (Please scroll to her Monday April 21st post.)
I really really like the photos at her “Zen of Motherhood” blog too! Check them out!!
Now back to Texas…

In the log cabin before we head down the path to the Om ceremony.

Some of us meet for the first time.
That’s Walter Suhr closest to the blue cup.

Tracy going into The Pyramid.

Husband exiting The Pyramid.

Chillin’ on the cabin’s back deck later.

And a seventh Big Photo because I adore sevens.

when i
grow up
i’m gonna
be a
leaf on
a tree
smiling at
everything
floating by.
i’ll play
croquet
with the
crickets.
i’ll
play
canasta
with the
cows.
and
when
autumn
sounds its
final tuba
i’ll dive
into winter’s
arms for a
long nap
to wake
a spring-fresh
bud, waving
hello
from a
poem.

~~ Shay Fireblossom over at Word Garden is emceeing the Flash Fiction 55 this week, whoohoo!!
And since I wrote that poem today and took that photo today, I guess that ties them together fine.
Y’all take care now!

If you find
this poem
one day
in
some
attic
in a
cedar
chest,
maybe
stuffed into
a book, or
wedged
between
old lace
and photos
of yourself
as a child,
please read it
and smile, knowing
that long ago
we got to
play 55, a game
Galen invented
that
brought
so many
together
forever
in love.

Could it be true — G-Man’s final 55 after 7 years?!?
AWESOME run, dude!!! Thanks for inviting so many and keeping the party rocking.
We all love you, Galen! And glad you’ll still be keeping up your blog.
EDIT on April 3rd : Shay Fireblossom of Wordgarden and The Zen Of Motherhood (a.k.a Mama Zen) will be taking over the 55 hosting, with Shay starting off the festivities soon. I shall edit-in the date and time of her hosting inauguration here very soon.

Top Photo: Me with my brothers on our front step. I was just about to or had just turned 5.
And next week I’ll be turning TEN times that old. 🙂

about
selling it
on ebay,
that is
until i realized
i could rejoice
for the family
who will celebrate
their childrens’ and
parents’ birthdays
on it.
and i
do mean
ON it,
because every
time that party platter
makes an appearance
all persons present
will shrink to 2″ tall,
fling off their shoes
and dance on it.
Sometimes, the plate
will find itself on summer
sunset shores where white
lights are strung along the
dunes for the dance.
Sometimes, the plate
will boast a 3-to-7 tier
frosted hill the guests
will have fun tromping
up and sliding down.
In winter the plate will be
frozen over for folks to skate on it
under the full moon, some of them
falling in love with themselves and
each other for the first and the
hundred and twenty first time,
all of them happy to be there
all of them glowing like gold.

oooxoxxxoooo to all you sweet peeps.
P.S. The 14″ diam. plate shipped last week to Nancy in Illinois. I bet she can bake!
P.P.S. I dedicate the sunset shores verse to Snaggletooth of Exit Stage Right whose ocean photos sparkle with hope.
P.P.P.S. I dedicate the rest of the poem to 9 days of vacation starting today! Spring Break, Baby!!! Whooooohooo.
