Just a favorite shot from a dress-up party she went to when she was four.
Birthday girl (in black and purple) was turning five.

from me,
Jannie
(Oh, if you’re new here, mine’s in the white lace gown. )
Hey, the tiaras remind me of Lance?! 🙂 Remember how he, the Grand Prize Winner of my tagline contest, looked about a year ago?!!
Good times, people, good times.
Like these times!
Like now.

Just Good Stuff, Poetry | Posted by Jannie on 7 July 2010 @ 11:51 AM
Today I am not
the dust in my corners,
the shutters unpainted,
the stashes of clean but
disorganized clothing,
the birthday present
unbought and unsent,
or the cleverly stacked
dirty dishes in my sink.
Today I am not the worry
of the oil gushing
or the worry of government lies,
or the worry of any lie or of any stupid thing I’ve ever said or done in the past.
Today I am not also the worry of
the audio cassette still unfound.
It will show up, shining.
(Probably when I’m getting to the dust!)
Today, I’m not going to the ocean
where we stood in awe when she was four.
But I AM going to a leafy place
with my favorite girl in the world,
where a clean river’s flowing,
children will be laughing
and Suzie and I will ease our
pleasant ongoing conversation
into the heart and soul of the day
— maybe even until dusk if I get off
this computer and do those
dishes to make things look nice
for Jim when he gets home
so he won’t be too mad, especially
since those shutters need painting.
Today, Suzie, our girls and I
will go get something good to eat!
Maybe Hut’s?
Maybe Chuy’s?
I have good sunscreen and
and a relatively un-hideous swimsuit
to greet the perfection of the day with.
(end of poem)
🙂
So, I better get my stuff together!
Clothes, umbrella, suits, towels, hats.
Get those ribs in the mic.
Do the dishes, while singing.
And a little dancing!
Find the little cooler.
Maybe even wash my face before sunscreen.
🙂
(end of other poem that sprang up.)

(I still have comments to answer from my last 2 posts. I’ll enjoy getting to those later!!)
I may go crazy, and not get back to a computer until tomorrow a.m.
(But I will slip in here to read comments from my iPhone!)
Can you say Internet Addicted, boys and girls?
🙂
I do love getting your sweet comments!
🙂
ox
agin.
Shoot, need to buttonize that — hang on…
Ahhh, now life is complete.
Well, it will be complete once I get BB with his sandcastle back up, and put the blue water back along the sides!
THEN do the dishes.
🙂
xoxo
again.

Hey festively free and frolicking friends.
I’m not sure if I’ll be adding any more words to this post or not. The night is young and so am I — who knows how this post could morph?
Just want to get this up to say Happy Fourth Of July.
I love all you guys. So much!
And have a sweet-loving day!
Jannie

Oh yeah, Kelly above at age 3 with one of her little buddies from pre-school.

Yo, handsome pool guy!
What’s up?
Hey, I may not always check to see if the camera shutter’s open.
Or do the dishes every week day.
Or break dance like I used to.
But I love you.
And that girl does too.
We both think you’re amazing in at least 14,351,987 ways.
And we’ll forever remain in awe of your prowess at keeping a beach ball between your feet as you relax on a raft.
Happy Fathers’ Day, Pool Guy!!!
You’re the best guy we know.

A Jannie who is whisking Jim and Kelly away today on a short vacation.
So see you when we get back.
Or before — if they have wireless.

A fourth summer angel sashayed into our midst yesterday!
(She also co-starred here and here.)
Also yesterday, one super-awesome dad decked the deck out in this surprise furniture. 3 little chairs, umbrella with stand, and white wooden table from Lowe’s — $45 total. (One more angel seat needed.)
And just who could that super-awesome dad be? Hmnnn, I wonder…?
.
Watermelon umbrella with watermelon snack — how perfect!
Even the broken arm kid’s cast is kinda watermelon colored. Thanks, broken arm kid! Color details make this blog the frolic it is.
And broken arm kid? Thanks for being born — this blog post would’ve never appeared if you hadn’t.
But wait! What about the super-awesome dad? Who could he be?
This guy?
Yeah, that’s him! The guy who built the tree house for the broken-arm angel two years ago.
Let’s zoom in on this handsome dad…
Ahh, so cute!
What a guy!!!
He pretty-much rocks. And deserves a slice of watermelon. Or two. Or three! Heck, that man deserves a whole watermelon patch all to himself! A huge field of it! With a ride-on garden railroad running through so he can survey his melon dominion without ever having to leave the comfort of his engine car seat.
(View the tree house interior here.)
Ummm watermelon!
Ummm summer!
Ummm life and love.
I likes this! I likes it A LOT!!!
You had any watermelon lately? Or ridden on a garden railroad?
And seriously, what title would you give this post?
With love and funsterment from Jannie,
xoxoxo
