My Lucky Blue Hat

The_lucky_blue_hat

My lucky blue hat. My lucky blue hat.

I feared I might have lost it.

But I found it on the dryer yesterday.

So glad me or nobody’d tossed it.

I bought it maybe 12 years ago.

Can’t remember what it costed.

Probably about $19.99, which at

50 cents each, would buy me 39.98

delicious (untaxed) donuts, frosted.

Well, holy cow!  It’s Friday.

And that deep offering is a Friday Flash Fiction in 55 words.

For whom?

For YOUM — Mr G-Man!

FFF55s are FUN!! Post one and G-Man will pop over and comment and book, (whatever book means.)

Please note — NO FFF55 next week.

Love Beats Hate — a poem

Friends, Just Good Stuff, Poetry | Posted by Jannie on 17 November 2010 @ 11:27 AM 48 Comments

North_Carolina_March_2002

I hate saying the word hate.
But I already have 3 times
since I started this post.

(4 times now, with that photo.)

Kelly says, “I hate this game.”
“I hate this cheese.” “I hate that team.”
“I hate you,” the latter last evening.

(I lost my patience and yelled at her,
so she was probably justified in that.
Both forgiven now. Today all new.)

Forgiveness is the ultimate love.

(Be sure to forgive yourself.)

Some people who were not held
sweetly as babies set up web pages
for the sake of hate against others.

Others say snide things about people
on their blogs because they are fearful,
and being mean often gets them a laugh.

(And I thought this LoveBeatsHate thing
would be hard to write about, but look at me
finding words here in this luuuv “hotseat.”)

Love seat?

🙂

The swing above was
a loveseat Kelly, Peach
and I shared in March 2002
in North Carolina.

Love is good.

I choose love.

Love is something you do.

Love is reigning.

Love (not Coke,) is it.

“When we judge we leave no room for love.” — Mother Theresa.

Love is in me.

Love is in you.

Love IS me.

Love IS you.

“Love power
It rules us
takes over
and shoes us.”)

(I don’t think
that last line
is correct, but
it does make
sense to me)

because

My Wonderful Friend, Suzie, the sunshine gal in this pic (at Kelly’s 5th birtday party,)

Suzie_Amber_Kelly_N_me4

recently gave me a pair of black ALL-leather Kenneth Cole shoes, ones her mother bought for her at a yard sale in Texarcana, but were a little too small for Suzie.

Whoo-hoooo!!

Love is the way to go.

nine_years_ago

As a newborn she wore the Bambi shirt. Now her doll wears it.

Kirsten, American Girl Doll — 18″ tall.

Kelly at birth — 18.5″ tall.

Kelly today — very petite for her age. But perfectly perfect in every way.

Happy Birthday, Angel.  Mom and Dad love you more than anything!

I know you’re not officially 9 until 2:10 p.m. but I couldn’t wait to post this!!  Of course you’re sleeping now anyway.

Sweet dreams, Angel. Sweet dreams.

Somewhere Down The Lacy River — Funny Typos 18

1. My favorite part of the waterpark is always the lacy river.

2. Is fertilizer made from pants or is it somehow synthesized from oil?

3. Getting rid of that beat-up old venetian window blond was a good way to go.

4. Thank you SO much for singing our Endometriosis Petition!

[Speaking of singing, look for me doing that here on video, Sept. 6th. One of my new songs!]

[There will also be a give-away post here on Sept 22nd on my blog’s 2nd anniversary — for 5 poetry books, 3 of my “I Need A Man” Cds, and 3 hand-written letters from me on gorgeous stationery with amazingly beautiful stamps!]

5. With art, I say go ahead and put all your eggs in one gasket!

6.  I’m impressed how you always jump through hops to post such captivating pix for us!

[And this picture shows hops.  I had NO IDEA what hops plants looked like or that they grew so tall — which is kinda strange, me being a beer lover and all.  Did YOU know what hops looked like?]

7.  The July 4th firewords went on for well over an hour.

8.  I can now post photos up to 790 px wide because I’ve slimed my sidebar down to 150px!

9.  Learning to play a new song on guitar AND sing at the same time almost always gets my brian twisted up.

(Of course, he’s EVERYbody’s brian. I mean Brian, an awesome blogging poet and friend to so many!)

10.  Well, gotta go now to make a new sidebar button to kink up another fine blog!

P.S.  At Funsterment Global Inc.’s annual meeting last week, the Board voted unanimously to start posting these typos when 10 are reached, instead of making the world wait for a full 20.

18 More Amazing Things I’ve Done Lately

Just Good Stuff | Posted by Jannie on 3 August 2010 @ 7:58 PM 54 Comments

hanging_at_lake_austin

1. Charged my video camera.

2. Cut up 33 paper shopping bags to use as wrapping for books I’ll be mailing eventually.

3. E-Mailed my interview answers to wonderful Lori.

4. Got my Friday 55 all ready for this week — a 55 not only FOR — but ABOUT the G-Man, whoo-hoo! (Oooo, the intrigue.) [Edit, the G-Man posts his 55 on Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. MICHIGAN time!]

5. Fed The Child at least a couple, often three times, daily.

6. Had The Child take a bath.

7. Took The Child to the Lake a few times. (We live not far from the park pictured above.)

8. Took The Child back to Kung Fu and Gymnastics, first time since what happened to her arm on May 1st.

9. Worked a few hours at Jim’s office. I shall rejoin him there one or two afternoons a week, as in the Olden Daze.  (I actually worked with him full-time before The Child arrived — if you can call zipping out for 3-hour tuna-melt coffee lunches to sit and write songs and poems working fulltime…)  (Sleeping with Being married to the boss does have its perks!)

10. Was off Internet for a whole 3 hours in a row. While I was awake!!

11. Finally chucked my duct-taped $1 flipflops in the trash.

12. Followed a bunch of gals on BlogFrog — and many are following back — whoo-hoo!  Now what? 🙂

13. Tweeted once.  Maybe twice!

14. Sat with metronome and guitar.  Think 130 beats per minute is it for “Sail A Child.”  (And you thought it would be a draggy tune!)   😉

15. Ran into Ryan at Kalyani’s moving day this past Sunday and he’ll be in the recording studio with me in a couple weeks! Piano on “Sail A Child” would be beautiful, especially Ryan’s piano.  That guy is a musical gift to the world!

16. Dabbled a bit more on the third verse of “Sail A Child,” trusting a couple lines even more magical than what I had before will soon unfold like silk scarves waving bye from the deck of a yacht bound from New York ’round the globe.

17. Read and commented on a whole dozen or so blogs!!

18. Answered almost all my comments on my last post.  And am looking forward to answering the remaining sweet ones.

 19.  (whoops — 19, not 18.) Finally assembled the 14″ Smokey Joe grill we bought back in February.  Eatin’ steak tonight, Baby!!  And it’s almost ready, whoo-hoo!  So to it!!

And you may NOT comment here unless you tell me at least one amazing thing you’ve done in the past 24 hours — and preferably more than one, because you my friend, are AWESOME, and made of love and light.
