Friends, you had some seriously great tagline ideas for me, thanks!!  In fact, there are over 20 I’ll be using in as many upcoming weeks.   And now that I can make a widget link “button” — holy cow — I gonna link you winners up!

To celebrate this Tagline Kick-Off today, I’m leaving Robin’s inadvertant “seriously weird” one up for another week with her widget link directly under my bog eye — yes, that’s she in the photo as a child!  Robin, the seriously wonderful gal of the Let’s Live Forever! blog and her partner Frank run a recording studio called The Sound Sculptor and Frank’s favorite fish is the Humphead Maori Wrasse at the Melbourne Aquarium!

And now, without further ado,  drum-roll please, the deservant tagline winners are…

I’ll be putting all the taglines in my codfishing boot and drawing randomly to post the new taglines and widget links on Mondays.

For those of you who did not “win” this fame and glory contest, you’re ALL winners to me and will remain so.  Forever and ever.  xo  And EVER!!  I love you all.

Seriously Weird!

That wonderful new “Seriously Weird” tagline on my header?  I owe that little gem to Robin Birch of Let’s Live Forever.  It was her succinctly apt response to my recent “So there!” (3 big beers and a donut for lunch) post.  Thanks, Robin — it’s so perfectly me!

So… I am wondering, my lovely blog buds, if you might have other ideas for good taglines for me?  I’d like to use some of your suggestions in the future, with an acknowledgement and a link to your site in a sidebar widget.   No big prizes for this one, friends — just the fame and infinite glory!  And the taglines I choose, I’ll leave up on my header for a week or two or three.   Maybe use them in future years too, with the same acknowledgement to you.

Some of my other taglines since I started this blog have been…

  • Singing, Songwriting, Bra-Flinging & Such
  • Fannie Junster
  • Grannie Jannie
  • Now with less eyeball, but more brow
  • Totally somebody now
  • Warning:  may contain traces of poetry
  • A garden of humble self-absorption
  • When in doubt go for the fun
  • Fun is really quite a good thing
  • Changing the world one wedgie at a time
  • A surprisingly nicheless niche
  • Home of the wedgie wedding
  • Home of the-perming-of-the-bangs
  • I need a man with a chainsaw

So?  Any ideas?  Please?

I’ll leave this open for over a week.  I’m sure I’ll post again in the meantime, but you are welcome to come back here and enter this fabulous “contest” until… 11:59 p.m. Texas (Central Daylight Savings) time on Saturday the 14th of March, 2009.

Limit of 100 entries per household, per day.

Void where funsterment is prohibited.

Come on!  You know you just gotta have a pair of those!!

Magic Fuzzy Pants come in assorted colors and sizes.  Matching scarves and kids’ pants available too — (That’s my Kelly in the kids’ blue ones here below.

Kalyani will take custom orders.  And ships FAST!
She’s even got a “Valentine’s hot pink fuzzy mini dress” up now on her eBay store (I bought one!)
Now, go get YOUR fuzzy pants!

But first – an edit… in Kalyani’s own words!!!

For custom orders (or if ordering from an ebay store is just too impersonal), please contact me at kalyani4ananda@yahoo.com for personalized attention.    I might even send you a free CD of my band,  Ananda Panda Band  with purchase (if you remind me).

And now that meme!

So… 7 facts about me, thanks to the tag from Patricia of Patricia’s Wisdom.  BTW, hers is a super-great inspirational blog, if ever you’ll find one.  (And she puts up with my wacky comments over there so you know she’s gotta be a saint.)
1.   I’m blood type B+
2.   I’m always about 5 lbs heavier than I’ll admit at any given time (currently I’m 120.)
3.   I earned a Bachelor’s of Education — French major, History minor but when the Nova Scotia Department of Education filled out my teacher’s certificate they mistakenly gave me a double major and me, being the eternally caring and thoughtful one I am, didn’t want to embarass them so never let them know their error.   : )
4.  I won the Winter Carnival chocolate-cream-pie eating contest in my college freshman year, womens’ division of course.
5.  I taught school for 2 years in Canada before running off here to Texas with my landlord.  (Still with him more than 18 years later.)
6.   I grew up on a farm and can milk a cow.  Not that I like milking them, but I can.
7.  I am an expert kindling chopper, give me axe, a good chopping block and any log shorter than 3′ and I’ll give you as many perfect 1.5″ x 1.5″ sticks as that log will allow.
There you have them!  Now, as I understand the “rules” of this to be…
A.  You link back to the person who tagged you (as I did above and here with Patricia.)
B.  Tag 7 people (don’t worry if it’s less than 7, it’s all in fun, anyway,) and link them on your blog, as I will below.
C.  Comment on the blogs of the others who were tagged.
So… here are the 7 of you I’m tagging (and dang I hate this freaking default double-spacing.  Gotta get with Kim Woodbridge on that.)  Anyway…   I would like to tag Tammy Cricket but I know she is off to boot camp tomorrow, so Tammy, I’ll get you in the future.  And those of you I did not tag here please don’t think you are not among the favorites of my heart today.  I’m sure I will get to you all as more memes make their way around.
1.  Kayrn  at Sailing the Great Lakes.
2.  Sheila at Ma Vie Folle.
3.  Snaggle Tooth  at Exit Stage Right
4.  Talon at Talonted
5.  Ella  at Jam jar Boogie
6.  Mia at General Hysteria
7.  Heather at How To Be A Woman

Three Good Things

Friends | Posted by Jannie on 15 December 2008 @ 6:47 PM 48 Comments

[Edit:  The shorts pix were actually taken a couple months ago, Kelly and her dad at Lowe’s store getting treehouse stuff.  Yesterday was in the mid 70s but today is is too freaking cold at 31 degrees for anything but warm clothes!  Oh, that’s 31 Farenheit, friends!  Not that lovely Centigrade.]
I’ve been delighting in a blog by a fellow big-eyed gal for a long long time now, for like… almost two months!  What a great place to hang out ’cause no matter how hard the fit may be hitting the shan elsewhere, Lynn only posts good things.  Three a day.  Every day.  Like:
—  “Seeing my kitty’s happy face that I am home.  Even though she was well looked after by friend Leisa, she missed having me to boss around.”
—  “The scent of garlic in the air when entering the church and enjoying a delightfully garlicky meal of lasagna and garlic bread at the church dinner.”
—  “This morning on the back porch a butterfly landed on my lap, startling both of us. It flew to a nearby tree to collect itself.”
Pretty wonderful, eh?  Hope you will pop in and see her at her blog.  Her spirit reminds me a lot of my good buddy Jae here in Austin who has recently started a WordPress blog.  (Jae, when ya gonna let me link you up?  No pressure, Babe.  No pressure.)

And now… Three Good Great Things from Jannie!
1.  That husbandly guy in the photo above, he arrived back safe and sound from Canada a few hours ago.  Yay!!!!!
2.  Those Christmas parcels above?  I mailed them to Canada this morning!  (And they cost about $5.00 less each to send than I’d budgeted for, whee-hoo.)  Was going to send only gift cards but added in a few small trinkets for that personal touch, Kelly had “finger crocheted” necklaces, royal purple color, for all family members, grandpa Duncan included.  Will have to post a jpeg of him wearing that someday.
3.  That Child depicted above and below, she really likes her dad and me, actually likes hanging around with us.   Says she wouldn’t trade us for any other mom and dad in he world.  Well, If that don’t beat all!
And, of course, in the interest of Wild Comment Conversation, I ask you,  “What are three good things in your world these days?
