I have no idea who Tara is, the sprite who incited both Deeper Issues Dot and Passing Thru Betsy to honor me with meme action, but I thank her deeply for this opportunity to share more deeply true Jannie.
1. Who is the hottest movie star?
Larry of the Three Stooges is my all-time fav, but if we’re talking contemporary actors, I like that Russell Crowe guy. Girl-wise, I like Uma Thurman.
2. Apart from your house and car, what’s the most expensive thing you’ve ever bought?
Definitely my genuine-imitation Mr. Spock belt buckle, as seen on tv. A $379.99 value I scored for only $19.99.
Next most expensive thing, my good-used marble cheese tray for $17.50.
3. What’s your most treasured memory?
Oh, I have so many, but the June Saturday afternoon I got my green wrestling outfit when I was 13 springs to mind. I was so energized by the shiny spandex, I put “Big Mike” McGillicuddy in a headlock for 30 minutes until he finally aplogized for teasing me all those years about my knobby knees. Then all of us kids on both sides of the long-standing feud kissed, made up and went for shakes at the Dairy Dip where my Uncle Sylvester dropped by with his 3-legged goat, Miriam.
4. What was the best gift you ever received as a child?
The box of elbow macaroni Aunt Freda brought me from Italy. I still have half of it.
5. What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made?
Putting salt instead of sugar in Uncle Sylvester’s birthday cake. Whoops. Miriam ate it, tho. Stole the whole thing right off the picnic table and lived to “maaa” the tale.
6. 4 words to describe yourself.
Spritely. Optimistic. Forgiving. Infinite.
7. What was your highlight or lowlight of 2008?
Getting the Christmas tree early was so great! Jim brought it home the day after Thanksgiving, a real nice fir that had slid off some old guy’s truck at a red light. Lowlight of 2008 — missing out on the bake sale at church ’cause I had to sit with the cat at the vet’s all day due to his post-neutering psychosomatica. I heard there was divinity fudge. And candy apples. And baklava flaking so lightly and honeyed it could make angels cry for weeks.
8. Favorite film?
Three! Waking Ned Divine. Ghostbusters. How To Hook A Rug In Four Minutes.
9. Tell me one thing I don’t know about you.
I wear a full-body vintage girdle every day. Like this one…
10. If you were a comic book / strip character, who would you be?
I would be the stick-person named Susan Lam that Kelly created and centers her adventure stories around.
Bonus question: What’s one stupid thing you did today, Jannie?
Didn’t let the water run at least 45 seconds first thing in the morning before drinking some.
Ta-da!
Okay you guys know what’s coming next, right? I’m supposed to pass this on to seven of you. But I’m gonna make it 10, ’cause I like the number 10, it’s so… Metric System.
So, here goes. And if anybody feels left out, please e-mail me and let me know you’d like to be tagged for my next meme, as I have no way of knowing who likes meming and who wants to avoid it like a rabid pigeon on a sugar-high.
1. Tammy of Windows 2 The Soul
2. Carla of Kootenay Bliss
3. Teahouseblossom of Teahouseblossom
4. Karyn of Sailor Mittens
5. Bella of She Sleeps With Sea Glass
6. Aimee of the Aimee Brons Blog
7. K of Interstitial Life
8. TheWeyrd1 of Keen Observer Of The Human Condition
9. Lane Savant of Feel Free To Laugh
10. Adrenalynn of Rainy Day

A whiff of body lotion can’t really transport us to peaceful places, right?! We’re all grown up and hip to advertizing hooey. YET… just one enchanting encounter with my new Aventine Hill “Relaxation Hand & Body Lotion” did sweep me gloriously farther away in 2 seconds than I ever was swept in years with another lotion. Must be that kiss of vanilla and lemon!
Sorry, certain brand of face soap, you’ll be seeing a lot less of me now that I have “Grandma’s Herbal Cleansing Grains” by Aventine Hill, with kaolin clay, rice powder, yogurt powder, colloidal oatmeal and other wonderful ORGANIC goodies!
Let’s face it, I’ve been obsessively good to my skin since my mid-twenties (except of course, for my tan in 1999 when Y2K was going to end the world and, gosh-darn, if I were going to meet my Maker at the young age of 35 – I’d meet Him with a great-looking tan.) So, combined with the suncare products I already use, Aventine Hill — created out of a love for nature — is the icing on my skin and soul-care’s cake.
Natural. Organic. No synthetic color. No synthetic fragrance. Handmade. Etsy. Great stuff.
And a GREAT VALUE too. Plus, a Big Mothers’ Day Sale Going on NOW!
So, hop on over there to Aventine Hill, y’all.
P.S. this is not a paid review, in case you were wonderin.’ 🙂

Hello Peeps. Just reclining here on my satin pillowcase wondering what, if anything, I have to regale you with tonight. Well… how about the original birthday cake picture I borrowed off Google Images — before I doctored it up for your viewing pleasure…
belated photo credit: ferrins fruit winery
I sure hope Mary, whoever she was, had a very fine birthday. Can’t help but wonder if she overdid the champagne and flung her delicate garment into the crepe myrtles as I did.
Below, as you may recall, was my doctorization of Mary’s cake…
I do not do Photoshop (yet,) I only work in Microsoft Paint, but AFTER MAY 10th, (of course,) I’ll be photoshopping, bungee jumping, pottery wheeling, three-stepping, and running down les Champs Elysees in my blue crochet bikini and cod fishing boots. (Wish me fine weather for the latter.)
And one final potential regalement… there is a blog I am a HUGE-BIG fan of ’cause it’s filled with bold upliftingness and such. Indeed the name of the blog is, ta-da… The Bold Life. It’s all about taking action and making things happen in your life. I cannot say enough good things about Tess’ blog. Talk about positive thinking – she wrote the book. Actally she did. Write a book, that is! It’s called Flying By The Seat Of My Soul. I LOVE IT!! And her. She’s even offering it as a free E-Book, but I am very fond of my soft-cover edition.
And if you have the best comment on Tess’ Magic Monday posts, she’ll send you cool stuff!
Interestingly (at least I think so, and leading us to the potential regalement part,) last week in her post Bold Changes For Bold People, Tess posed this question, “What was the bravest thing you ever did?” which inspired me to share that “in freshman year I took on the chocolate cream pie eating contest and won! There were only 4 contestants but still, there was stiff competition – “Maggie the Muncher” (reigning pie champion,) was giving me the evil eye to psyche me out, but I put my hands behind my back, my face down in that goopy stuff and didn’t stop gobbling until the bell rang and I was pronounced Winner!”
(I won beer!)
And Tess, may I be so bold as to steal your idea and ask my Peeps what kinds of brave things they have done, if they so desire to share? Thank you, dear bold Tess. And Peeps, I funned around here a bit but Tess’ blog is really a special one-of-a-kind sanctuary, as is Dream Builder Doctor Liara Covert’s, but the latter lovely lady’s I shall have to expound more upon another day.
Potential Regalements — over and out.
