Last Sunday we enjoyed a most pleasant time at a local lake-side park.
A park rife with pecans the children were eager to fill their bags with.
But hanging out water-side with the minnows and turtles soon eclipsed the thrill of hunting for free pecans.
Chit-chatting and looking extra-cute became the the order of the day and…
the nut-collecting bags were put to alternate use.
When’s the last time you ran around with a bag on your head? 🙂

Kelly and Amber. They met at Gymboree when Amber was 7 months old and Kelly 6 months old.
Emily Is Amber’s little sister. Guess how old she turned Saturday?
(If I were a more conscientious blogger I’d Paint out that balloon string and those funky-weird green shorts and boots in the background. )
And below, Kelly and Amber five years ago.
Suzie: Amber and Emily’s mom and one of my bestest friends.

Guess what happened to me Sunday?!? I met a blogging buddy! Yes, my first ever “In Real Life” blogging buddy meeting.
Whoo-Hoo!!!
And a darn fine specimen of a blogging buddy she is, Miss Paige of the Paradise Mountain To Hell’s Valley blog.
Isn’t she beautiful?
Hey, anyone who’s seen Paige knows she’s beautiful outside and in, but due to her spy status she must remain incognito on the interwebs.
And where did our families meet Sunday? At Texas’ own Enchanted Rock State Natural Area! Second biggest rock on the planet, some say. (Ayer’s being first, I guess.)
Enchanted Rock: 640 acres of solid granite to wander, 425 feet to the summit.
Was pretty windy up top, maybe 60 mph breezes. Blew another of Kelly’s baby teeth plumb out.
Well, my blogging friend, how ’bout YOU?? Have you met any blogging buddies IRL?? And if so, what was it like?
Where did you meet?
Are you closer friends for having met, as Paige and I are?
If you haven’t met any blogging buds, do you plan to?
And when in heck are you planning on meeting ME??? I’m eagerly waiting. And so is Enchanted Rock.
Or if in Austin, how ’bout Oyster Landing now that the weather’s finally cooler. The coffee’s on me!

In a comment here the other day about Page Rank and such, Today’s Woman, Rose DesRochers funned “I’m still waiting for someone to write a post about how great I am. hehe”
Well, Rose, I think you recently crafted a GREAT Interview with Lorelle VanFossen — yes, THE WordPress Lorelle VanFossen, author of “Blogging Tips: What Bloggers Won’t Tell You About Blogging.” In that interview I fell in love with the wildly wonderful Lorelle who never concerns herself with stats, advises us first and foremost to be bloggers who care and considers finding a WiFi connection the pinnacle of blogging success.
Btw, I’m having trouble finding her book. Anyone have one for sale?
Attention Blogger Peeps: Lorelle’s wisdom can apply to all bloggers, not only WordPress users.
So Rose, has your dream come true with this post of mine? (hehe) Do you feel as great as you seem? Ah, but I already know you must be great because you’re a fellow shih-tzu lover. (Rose’s 2 shih-tzus have a blog all their own.)
And folks, just slightly non-related to this post, here’s a picture of 3 guys in kilts holding up a log.

Have a great day, y’all!
