My eyes may have been closed in this picture but my heart was wide open for you. And still is. And always will be!
Happy Anniversary to the best man I’ve ever known. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

Yes, Dad has been known to actually drive his snowmobile on SNOW — not just on summer grass!
Winter!! How wonderfully wonderful it can be.
Kalyani’s par-amour likes the coldest season because he doesn’t sweat as much as in summer, cutting down on laundry hassles.
What I like — no, what I absolutely LOVE about winter is being able to wear wonderfully wonderful long dark pants and long sleeved sweaters. That cozy covered-up feeling makes me feel like The Ultimate Real True Jannie, the Jannie destined for the happiest of hippity-hopping everywhere I go.
How ’bout you? What do you like about winter?? (If anything.) 🙂
(The above photo of Dad, niece and nephew, December 2009 was pilfered borrowed from my beautifully wonderful sister’s blog. )

Did you think he was nekkid at first glance? That’s what Kelly thought during our recent Great Photo Organizing Frenzy when she found this pic of her dad, taken right around the time I met him. Jim-Him, that is. Holy cow — a little over 20 years ago now.
And yes, that sofa was here in this house when I moved in 19.6 years ago, omg. Can’t you just feel it’s ugliness scratching your skin?? Couldn’t you just single-handedly heave it onto the nearest bonfire, or back into the college dorm beer room from whenst it came?!?!
Wait — you had one of those uncomely couches pass through your life at one point too, didn’t you??!
Edit: [It’s not that Jim has or ever had “bad taste.” Money was tight for him back then and the sofa was a hand-me-down he gladly accepted.]
Luckily, we’ve moved on to more appealing sofas since then. And you will get to see each and every one of them! I’ve tons of photos from over the years that I’ve been scanning at the library for my upcoming “Queen Of Remodeling Patience” series, which will be posted in at least 12 installments. Maybe 20! I mentioned we started remodeling and adding onto our house almost 17 years ago, right? We’ve gone from 1400 square feet to over 2700. And now we’re remodeling the remodel! I should have the first installment ready for you on Friday. Hopefully. Possibly. 🙂
Exciting to no end, eh??
🙂

So, its “wacky” January 6th, right — R.A.O.K.A. first Wednesday of the month? Sami? Lance?? Everybody??? 🙂 IS THIS THING ON?!?!? 🙂
Who needs snow, when you’ve got a wacky dad?! Two summers ago he zipped the olde moto-ski out of its garage to give the kids a surprise spin around the barnyard. That’s my neice Alyssa (10) in front. And Kelly’s sandwiched between her and Dad — that’s her white-sneakered leg.
Typical Canadian Maritimes’ summer recreation, I tell ya, fokes! 🙂 As you can see, I come by this wackiness more than honestly.
Isn’t my dad cute?! He was 70 in that picture. I’m so glad to have a healthy, active dad who loves life so much.
And how’s YOUR wacky today??? Done anything wacky lately?
🙂
EDIT Below… (Copied from Zeenat of Positive Provocations.) Zeenat — hope you don’t mind?? It’s my first foray into this R.A.O.K.A. and I’m learning as I go. 🙂

“Your face looks the same and your hair was darker, but no offense, Mom — you were really fat in that picture.”
“I was 8 months pregnant with you.”
“Oh.”
As I was saying last post, Kelly’s room is undergoing a complete overhaul. Bye-bye sweet teddy bear wall paper, boo hoo.
Hello Club Penguin ?? 🙂 Whoo-hoo!!
I can’t remember which I found first — the wall paper or the “Kelly” peg-shelf, but they matched and that was good enough for me. The peg-shelf (is that what you’d call it?) has not been moved since I hung it up back in the summer of ’01! (A Lilian Vernon purchase, I think.)
Here’s how that corner looked yesterday…
And below — brace yourself — here’s how that window wall looked a few days ago… (Dear Lord.)
But…. here’s how it looks this morning! Ahhhhhh — Progress!
So tell me (ladies — obviously,) did you get chubby all over during your pregnancies too — even your legs?!
Has your kid’s (or your) bedroom ever gotten that wild (second to last photo, obviously) ?? 😉 But Vered, Blogger For Hire is exempt from this question, because I KNOW her kids’ rooms would NEVER EVER look like that. Right, dear Vered?? 🙂
Have you ever shopped Lilian Vernon??
Have you ever been to Spain? I never have, but I really really really like the music!
